Call for Entries: LIONHEALTH Award for the Best Scientific Publication on Nutrition in IBD
Lionhealth rewards clinical research on nutrition in IBD.
Lionhealth S.r.l. Società Benefit's mission is to support scientific research and recognize merit. For this reason, it is announcing the LIONHEALTH Award for the Best Scientific Publication on Nutrition in IBD, aimed at IG-IBD members who have published significant work in this field.
Who can participate
All IG-IBD members who are up to date with their membership fees for the current year (2026) and who have published a paper in English on nutrition in IBD in a peer-reviewed journal are eligible to apply.
- Original articles (clinical trials, cohort studies, case-control studies, observational studies)
- Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
- Methodological articles
Each candidate may submit only one publication, to be entered in only one of the two categories.
The Award
There are two categories:
Senior Award
€2.000
Reserved for those who are the first author, last author, or corresponding author of a work published in the last 5 years (or available as ahead of print on the closing date of the call for applications).
Young researchers
€1.000
Reserved for candidates aged ≤ 35 years on the closing date of the call for applications, first author, last author, or corresponding author of a work published in the last 5 years (or available as ahead of print).

The evaluation will be conducted by a panel of experts in clinical nutrition and IBD:

Evaluation criteria
The Commission will award a maximum of 35 points:
Methodological quality
maximum 25 points
- Clarity of study objectives
- Soundness of the rationale and theoretical framework
- Adequacy of study design
- Soundness and comprehensiveness of analytical methodologies
- Quality of presentation of results and consistency with objectives
Scientific and clinical impact
maximum 10 points
- Relevance for the nutritional management of IBD
- Innovativeness of the scientific contribution

The deadline for submitting applications is October 30, 2026.
